The GEMILANG PMR is a bunch of programs that tailored for those who are sitting for PMR . In order to achieve the best PMR results, the team has set up various activities and strategies which are affordable to the students as well as the teachers. It includes intensive classes, extra classes, teachers’ training, PMR clinics as well as spiritual programs and others.

GEMILANG SPM :

GEMILANG SPM is proposed to elaborate its plan of action and strategies towards preparing competent teachers and adequate students at their best performance. As far as the quality education in Setiabudi is concerned again, the Gemilang team looks forward to implementing more brilliant strategies in facing SPM 2007.

SETIABUDI ORAL ENGLISH PROGRAMME (SOEP):

In light of the need to enhance the learning of the English Language at SETIABUDI, the school has introduced an oral communication class to be incorporated within the school curriculum.

This programme aims to equip the students with the ability to communicate effectively so as to fulfill their educational and daily needs at SETIABUDI.

ROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the programme, the students should be able to :

participate in social interaction through conversation and discussion to develop better relationship.

express ideas and opinions creatively and effectively.

listen and respond to various English Language materials including literature component.

Syllabus

The content of this programme is based on Ministry of Education specification. The syllabus is split into two levels: intermediate and advance.

The activities in the modules consist of three language usage components. They are:

Language for interpersonal use

Language for informational use

Language for aesthetic use.

Implementation

This programme is now being carried out within the school hours. It covers a 40-minute-period a day. For lower secondary, 3 periods are allocated per week, and 2 periods for upper secondary.

TAHFIZ PROGRAMME:

Instead of achieving academic excellence, another important mission of Sekolah Menengah Taman Ilmu Dan Budi is towards conviction of Iman and promoting high moral values and conducts. It is related to the aim of education which is to achieve a good man has balance personality, mentally, physically and spiritually. Therefore, in order to achieve this mission, the school will be organizing a newly improved Thafiz Program starting from year 2007.this program will be focusing on Qur’anic recitation and memorization and how to achieve excellence in academics as well as maintaining good akhlaq. They also will be guided through the program systematically. Through these, hopefully the students will better in their Qur’anic recitation and memorization

To produce huffaz (memorizer) members.
